Tracy Bechtold, Principal

Tracy Bechtold founded the firm in 1995 after extensive and diverse experience in corporate communications, consumer and business-to-business marketing communications, developing and implementing programs for nonprofit, private and publicly held organizations in Los Angeles and around the country.

Prior to founding Opus Group, Ms. Bechtold held senior positions both in-house and at public relations firms in Los Angeles. She served as a vice president and managing director for Burson-Marsteller's Los Angeles corporate practice, vice president of marketing and public relations for Ingle Company, a television production and publishing company, and vice president, corporate practice, at Bender Goldman & Helper.

Ms. Bechtold has developed and executed successful campaigns for a range of products, corporations, foundations and institutions as well as media, entertainment and leisure companies including KB Home, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Orthopaedic Hospital, Los Angeles Eye Institute, Freeman Cosmetic Corporation, Universal Studios Hollywood, Jenny Craig, Inc., Korn/Ferry International, Republic Pictures, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, MCA/Universal Licensing & Merchandising, Starlight Foundation, and Gulf Stream.

Ms. Bechtold is an active member in local and national public relations organizations including the Public Relations Society of America and Public Communicators of Los Angeles. She earned a BA in English and art history from the University of Arizona, graduating with honors, and completed course work for a PhD in art history at the University of California, Los Angeles, before beginning her communications career.

Involved in numerous community volunteer activities, Ms. Bechtold has served on the board of the Los Angeles Women's Foundation and currently serves on the board of Planned Parenthood Los Angeles' Guild.
